Which marketing channel actually pays?

Put your spend and leads side by side and see the ROI on every channel — Google, Angi, Facebook, signs, referrals. Then move the next dollar where it already works. No signup, nothing stored.

This math only works if you actually know which channel each lead came from — and most shops are guessing from memory. FieldLine gives every channel its own tracking number, so “which ad made the phone ring” stops being a guess. From $28/mo.

Questions

Channel ROI, explained

How do I calculate ROI on my marketing channels?

For each channel, take the revenue it produced and subtract what you spent, then divide by the spend. This calculator does it for you: enter each channel’s monthly spend and the leads it brought in, set your close rate and average job value, and it works out jobs, revenue, cost per lead, cost per job, and ROAS (return on ad spend) for every channel side by side.

What’s a good ROAS for a home-services business?

It varies by trade and margin, but a rough rule of thumb: below 1× the channel is losing money, 1–3× is working but worth tightening, and above 3× is a channel to lean into. What matters more than the benchmark is comparing your own channels against each other — the point is to move budget from your weakest to your strongest.

How do I know which channel my leads actually came from?

That’s the hard part — and the reason this math misleads so many shops. Most owners guess from memory, so the channel that “feels” busy gets the credit. FieldLine gives each channel its own dedicated tracking number, so every call is automatically attributed to the ad, sign, or listing that produced it. Then the numbers in a calculator like this are real instead of guessed.

Is this ROI calculator free? Do I need to sign up?

It’s completely free and there’s no signup — the math runs in your browser and nothing is stored. Add or remove channels, adjust the numbers to match your shop, and the results update instantly.
